1Overview & Data Philosophy

LawyerWay is built on the principle that legal matters are deeply personal, sensitive, and sacred. We implement a strict data-minimization architecture: we collect only what is strictly necessary to authenticate accounts, connect clients with verified legal counsel, and fulfill consultation bookings.

We treat all case communications with the utmost discretion and technological shielding, respecting attorney-client privilege and confidentiality standards.

2Information We Collect

From Clients:Name, email address, mobile number, city, and files uploaded voluntarily to the encrypted Legal Vault.
From Legal Practitioners:Full name, bar license number, state bar authority, years of practice, office address, and verified government photo identity credentials.

3How We Use Your Information

  • To facilitate secure video, audio, and in-person consultations between clients and legal professionals.
  • To cross-reference and verify bar credentials against official regulatory registries.
  • To generate automated court hearing date reminders and case milestone timelines.
  • To maintain secure escrow settlement records for booked appointments.
  • To prevent fraud, impersonation, and unauthorized practice of law.

4Information Sharing & Attorney-Client Privilege

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers or marketing agencies under any circumstances. Information is shared strictly under these parameters:

With Confirmed Legal Counsel: When you book a consultation, the chosen practitioner receives your case summary, contact information, and documents explicitly shared by you in your Legal Vault.
Direct Contact: Verified legal practitioners who choose to make their phone numbers publicly accessible on their profile can be contacted directly by clients. Communications via external apps (Phone/WhatsApp) occur outside LawyerWay's infrastructure.

5Legal Vault & AES-256 Encryption

All case files and sensitive documents uploaded into the Legal Vault are protected with AES-256 Bit Encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit.

🛡️ Zero-Knowledge Access: LawyerWay engineers and administrators have zero decrypt access to the contents of uploaded legal petitions or contracts. Access keys are tied directly to authenticated user sessions.

6User Rights Under DPDP Act 2023

As a data principal, you hold absolute rights over your legal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

  • Right to Access / Know: You can download an automated summary of all consultations and vault files.
  • Right to Rectification / Correction: You can update contact numbers, names, or bar records at any time.
  • Right to Revoke Access: You can revoke lawyer access to any shared case document with 1-click.
  • Right to Complete Deletion: You can request permanent account deletion via Profile → Settings or by emailing support@lawyerway.com. Data will be purged within 30 days.
