1Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, browsing profiles, uploading documents to the Legal Vault, or booking a consultation on LawyerWay, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must discontinue using our platform immediately.
2Intermediary Platform & Bar Council of India Disclaimer
LawyerWay operates strictly as a technology intermediary as defined under Section 2(1)(w) and Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Under Rule 36, Section IV, Chapter II, Part VI of the Bar Council of India Rules, advocates are prohibited from advertising or soliciting clients directly or indirectly. LawyerWay does not advertise or solicit work for any individual lawyer.
LawyerWay is not a law firm, does not engage in the practice of law, and does not provide legal representation. Legal opinions, advice, and court appearances are delivered solely by the independent licensed legal professionals selected by the client.
3User Accounts & Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into binding contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- You must provide accurate, current, and truthful information during registration.
- You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and password.
- Creating fake profiles, impersonating judicial officers, or misrepresenting bar admissions will result in immediate termination and legal action.
4Advocate Obligations & Bar Authenticity
All legal professionals listed on LawyerWay represent and warrant that:
- They hold an active, valid enrollment with a State Bar Council in India and have not been suspended or disbarred by any disciplinary committee.
- They will maintain the highest professional standards of attorney-client confidentiality and ethical representation.
- They will honour confirmed consultation appointments punctually or notify the client with reasonable advance notice.
5Client Obligations & Conduct
Clients using LawyerWay agree to:
- Use the platform in good faith for legitimate legal queries and lawful consultation purposes.
- Not upload obscene, defamatory, unlawful, or court-sealed confidential material in the Legal Vault without proper authority.
- Not harass, threaten, or abuse legal practitioners or platform support personnel.

7Direct Contact & Off-Platform Communication
Verified practitioners may opt to display their direct phone numbers on their public profile. When a client initiates a direct phone call or message, such communication occurs outside LawyerWay's digital infrastructure. LawyerWay does not record, monitor, or bear responsibility for off-platform conversations or subsequent retainer agreements.
8Limitation of Liability
LawyerWay facilitates discovery and digital practice management tools. In no event shall LawyerWay, its directors, or affiliates be liable for: (a) the legal strategy, outcome, or judgment of any court proceeding, (b) any loss of evidence or data beyond standard backups, or (c) any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability is strictly limited to the amount paid to the platform for the specific booking in dispute.
9Intellectual Property
The LawyerWay brand, UI design, custom icons, algorithms, and software code are the proprietary intellectual property of LawyerWay Technologies Ltd. Legal guides and articles published by practitioners remain the author's intellectual creation, licensed to LawyerWay for platform publication.
10Termination & Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any legal dispute, arbitration, or proceeding arising out of or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.
